TURTLE ROCK - A LAKE NORMAN WATERMARK



I think I was about 10 years old the first time I saw it. My brother and I rented a boat at the marina near Long Island bridge for $2.00 per day, and with a 2.5 horsepower outboard, we made our way down the lake.


There are a number of things about Lake Norman that haven't changed through the years, and one of them is Turtle Rock. On a rocky point just out of Lake Norman State Park neck, it looks the same today as it did many years ago. Sometimes the "eye" of the turtle has been freshly painted by some anonymous lake artist, but otherwise just the same.


I enjoy seeing some things that remain the same - like Turtle Rock.


I've just listed a beautiful waterfront home on Lake Norman. The owners have lovingly remodeled and refurbished everything. It's a really unique home in a beautiful deep water cove. And, by the way, not too far from Turtle Rock. Check out the video for this fine home on the water:
